The pregnant wife of the former NBA star, Danilo Gallinari, revealed on Friday that he had been attacked by a shark in Puerto Rico.

Eleonora Boi posted a photo of herself in a hospital bed with her tongue protruding on her Instagram page with an explanation of the terrifying event. She waits for her third child with the former New York striker.

She described it as the “worst day of my life.”

“I never thought I could be attacked by a shark and was close to the shore and on a super full beach. Fortunately, my baby and I are fine,” he wrote, according to a translation. “I was urgently taken to the rescue and surgery to fix my poor bruising leg was fine. Now I just have to recover from the great scare …”.

He joked that the shark would listen to his lawyer and thanked her husband for her “courage” during the situation. According to the reports, he suffered a wound in his thigh.

The biologist of the Department of Natural and Environmental Resources, Nilda Jiménez, told El Nuevo Día that the officials were investigating the type of shark that Boi springs.

“According to the photographs that provide us, we believe that the characteristics of the bite could be consistent with those of a shark,” Nilda told The Outlet, through E! News. “But to validate this, a series of analysis would be necessary. For this purpose, medical staff were asked for samples that, if available, would be analyzed immediately.”

Gallinari did not approach the incident.

The Native of Italy played in the NBA from 2008 to 2024 with eight different teams during his career. He averaged 14.9 points and 4.7 rebounds in 777 race games.
