The New York Knicks had not advanced to the ends of the Eastern Conference since 2000 before doing so in May. New York finally lost to the Indiana Pacers in six games.

Shortly after the New York playoff departure, the Knicks announced that the organization would move from coach Tom Thibodeau.

There was a wide training search, which included multiple denials of interview requests. On Wednesday, the search allegedly culminated with the Mike Brown team. According to ESPN, Knicks are expected to name Brown as the next head of the franchise.
