The open NFL receiver Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson is regretting the loss of his former teammate of the Cincinnati Bengals, Rudi Johnson.
Johnson died Tuesday in southern Florida at age 45.
During a recent “Nightcap” episode, a co-elbitrion podcast of the member of the Hall of Fame of Professional Soccer Shannon Sharpe, Johnson reflected on the “great memories” he shared with the late corridor.
“Yesterday I lost my Dawg, Rudi Johnson,” said former Bengals star. “Obviously, the great memories we had playing in Cincinnati and all those good things.”

Ochocinco and Johnson were members of the NFL 2001 Draft class. Ochocinco was selected in the second round, while Johnson landed in the fourth round after obtaining the honors of the offensive player of the year of the Southeast Conference for his outstanding 2000 season in Auburn.
Then they played next to each other in Cincinnati from 2001 to 2007.

Ochocinco said he was “annoying” that he did not have the opportunity to wish his friend a final farewell.
“I am a bit annoying, I am a little hurt, I could not say goodbye to a good friend of mine,” he said. “It’s unfortunate. Young Rudi, boy, will miss you. I love you.”

TMZ Sports reported that Johnson experienced mental health problems before his death. The departure added that a family source said that the former outstanding of the Bengals possibly fought against chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).

A spokesman for the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s office said the investigation is being treated as a death for suicide and that there was no early evidence to suggest dirty game.
The president of the Bengals, Mike Brown, paid tribute to Johnson, remembering him as someone who was very admired.
“Rudi was a good person and an excellent corridor for us,” Brown said in a statement. “He was reliable and productive as a player, and very popular among his teammates. They all liked and saw him as a dear friend. We are deeply sad for his death.”
