Former grand theft car 5 Audio designer Rob Carr believes that Rockstar Games has rebuilt its Rockstar Advanced Game Engine (RAGE) amid the development of grand theft car 6.
while we argue GTA 6 and the systems he anticipates will appear in the next game on the Kiwi Talkz podcast, Carr commented on the studio’s famous RAGE system, saying that it was probably rebuilt in the time it took the project to get this far.
“I don’t know anything about it [GTA 6]”You know, apart from the fact that they’ve probably, you know, given the time it took them to get to this stage, they’ve probably rebuilt the entire RAGE engine,” he said.

“That’s the only thing I can say with real, genuine confidence.”
He continued: “I would be surprised if they didn’t because the architecture of the technology has advanced significantly since GTA 5which, again, is easy to forget, that was three generations ago. That was the last one that was published on [Xbox] 360 and PS3.”

In the same interview, Carr also talked about what he hopes to see in GTA 6specifically the ideas that Rockstar will implement in previous games.
Carr said he sees the game borrowing mechanics from Red Dead Redemption 2like how GTA 5 had Red Dead Redemption‘s Dead Eye system: “I’d be surprised if they don’t use some Dead red 2.“
grand theft car 6 will officially launch on November 19, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S.
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that marketing will begin in the coming months, suggesting that the game’s third trailer will likely be released this summer.
