Rawalpindi:

The main leader of PML-N and former Senator Chaudhry Tanveer Ahmed Khan surrendered to the Rawalpindi Bank of the Superior Court of Lahore in relation to the case of murder of former provincial parliamentary secretary Chaudhry Adnan.

Appearing before Judge Sadqat Ali Khan, Tanveer withdrew his request for bail prior to the arrest, which the court formally eliminated. After the retirement, the Civil Police Lines put Chaudhry Tanveer and involved him to the investigation.

The defense lawyer declared that his client had voluntarily withdraw the bail application to guarantee transparency in the investigation and to cooperate completely with the police.

“Our bond was not rejected: we withdraw it ourselves to facilitate fair investigation. We will present all the tests that prove our innocence,” said the lawyer.

Chaudhry Adnan, who was a close relative of Chaudhry Tanveer, was shot dead on February 8, 2024, three days after the general elections, near Jinnah Park Chowk in the civil Linnes area. His family presented a Fir accusing Chaudhry Tanveer, his brother Chaudhry Changez (member of the Cantonment Board) and his son BarrĂster Daniyal (a MNA sitting).
