During his almost two decades to the helm, Mike Tomlin has trained the Pittsburgh Steelers to a Super Bowl title and was constantly considered one of the best NFL coaches.

While Steelers are one of the most announced franchises in the League, the organization has become accustomed to exposing in the postseason in recent years. Tomlin has been the chief coach of the Steelers since the 2007 season. He has never finished a regular season with a losing record, but now eight years have passed since he took a team to victory in a playoff game.

Amid the recent disappointments of Pittsburgh, the former star of the Steelers and the current ESPN NFL analyst Ryan Clark, offered his thoughts about Tomlin’s training future.

“I think Mike Tomlin is ignorant,” Clark said in ESPN. “I think if Mike Tomlin moves away from being the Pittsburgh Steelers coach, that should be his decision. And I said again and again: I think that should be the decision he makes.”

Clark then encouraged his former coach to move on to another NFL team, where he could be seen as a “fresh voice.” He also suggested that the coach’s message can no longer resonate with current players in the Steelers costumes.

“I think Mike Tomlin should train in another organization,” Clark continued. “Mike Tomlin should be a fresh voice elsewhere. Because … as good as a coach as he is, and he is a member of the first wall hall, I think his voice has become obsolete there. I think he has allowed that team to reach the highest heights they will reach, unless they can obtain a high -level field marshal.”

The level of field seafood game obtained by Steelers in the 2025 season will probably have a considerable impact on their success. The Pittsburgh Field Marshal Hall currently has players with more questions than answers.

Mason Rudolph left the Steelers after the 2023 season and joined the Tennessee Titans. The field marshal launched nine touchdowns against nine interceptions in eight games in 2024. In addition to Rudolph, Skylar Thompson and the rookie Will Howard are the only other quarterbacks under contract with the Steelers.

Howard took Ohio to the National Championship in January. Pittsburgh recruited him in the sixth round last month.

The Steelers have shown interest in the veteran field marshal Aaron Rodgers. The four -time MVP of the NFL has met with the main office of the Steelers and the coaches, but has not yet made an official decision about their future football.
