There was a time when Travis Kelce’s life was subject to entertainment media, even without Taylor Swift.
In 2016, the closed wing of Kansas City Chiefs had its own dating show, “Catching Kelce”, in which he tried to go out with 50 women, one in each state, in an attempt to find a girlfriend. The show lasted a season.
The former Kelce teammate, the Tackle leader of all the time of the Chiefs, Derrick Johnson, told Pak Gazette Digital how the costumes reacted to the Kelce dating program.

“He tried not [talk about the show in the locker room] But sometimes we joke, because when you play for Andy Reid, there are no distractions. You have to do your job and do it at a high level. So we were aware of the show in the locker room. We would launch different things out there. But when it came to football, everything was a matter, “said Johnson.
Kelce turned 27 in October 2016 when the program was broadcast, superimposed with the NFL season of that year. The closed wing was in the middle of its first reception season of 1,000 yards and seasons in the second of 10 Pro Bowl. And while the teasing for the show came to the locker room, Johnson says that team veterans also respected the young Kelce’s skills when it came to leave.

“I had solved it. Good or bad, that is the area in which you don’t need help,” said Johnson.
The first and only season of the program ended with Kelce choosing a contestant from Kentucky, Maya Benberry, like his girlfriend. However, for 2017, it was reported that Kelce began dating her next girlfriend, model Kayla Nicole.

According to the reports, Kelce and Nicole left for five years until May 2022.
Once Kelce began his relationship with Swift in 2023, Johnson realized.
“Outkicked his coverage. Taylor’s great time,” said Johnson. “Kelce is also the great moment, in terms of football, but she is worldwide. They are definitely a couple of power.”

Johnson left the Chiefs for the Raiders rivals for their last season in 2018, but its lasting influence preceded the historical dynasty of the team and three victories of the Super Bowl, with five total trips to the great game, from 2019 to February 2024.
Johnson was a famous leader of the team in defense in the early years of Kelce’s career.
“None of us knew who it could really be. He probably didn’t know it at all either. And once he launched after his second year, third year, I thought: ‘This guy is man!'” Johnson said.
