The founder of Gotbit, Aleksei Andriunin, extradated us for fraud charges

The founder of Gotbit, Aleksei Andriunin, a 26 -year -old Russian citizen, was extradited to the United States on Tuesday to face fraud positions derived from the accusations that his company participated in a “wide range conspiracy” to manipulate the prices of tokens at paying to the cryptocurrency companies of the clients, the Department of Justice of the United States said in a press release on Wednesday.

Andriunin was arrested in Portugal last October and subsequently accused by a large jury of Boston for charges of electronic fraud and conspiracy to commit market manipulation and cable fraud, charges that carry a maximum combined sentence of 25 years in prison. The accusation was also charged to Gotbit, as well as two of its directors, Fedor Kedrov and Qawi Jalili, both also from Russia.

Between 2018 and 2024, prosecutors say that Gotbit essentially provided market manipulation services for rent, offering their Token pricing services to a variety of cryptographic companies, including companies based in the United States.

Andriunin was not shy about the nature of Gotbit’s services, in a 2019 interview with Coendesk, which is referred to in the announcement of the Department of Justice (Department of Justice) on Wednesday, Andriunin, then second -year student at the State University of Moscow, admitted without surroundings that his business “was not completely ethical.”
