Rawalpindi:

The imprisoned founder of Pakistan Tehreek-E-Insaf, Imran Khan, has rejected a polygraph test (lies detector test) requested by LaHore’s police investigation for the fourth time, delaying the progress in the investigation in the case of the disturbances of May 9.

A police investigation team, headed by DSP Asif Javeed de Lahore, arrived at the Adiala prison on Monday to perform a polygraph test, a photogrammetric test and a voice correspondence test in relation to 11 cases recorded in LaHore related to the events of May 9.

The members of the Punjab Forensic Unit were also part of the team, which included inspectors Muhammad Aslam, Tasaduq, Salem and Naveed, together with the technical expert Abid Ayub.

The prison administration informed the founder of PTI, but refused to participate in the investigation. The sources said Imran was informed that the investigation team had arrived with a court order. However, he refused to undergo the tests.

The sources added that previously, Imran had established the condition that he would only cooperate and undergo evidence in the presence of his lawyers.

However, when the research team returned with its legal team, it presented a written statement that informed them that article 13 of the Constitution protects it from being forced to participate in an investigation or submit to evidence that could produce evidence against it.

The sources also declared that this was the fourth time that the founder of PTI had refused to take the evidence. The investigation cannot advance unless the tests are carried out, since they are necessary to determine if the accusations against them are precise.

Despite its rejection, the Lahore -based research team waited four hours, but the founder of PTI did not agree with the tests. Finally, the research team returned to Lahore.
