- Another feature of the Galaxy Z TriFold has been revealed
- You can use your phone as a second screen for your Windows PC
- The functionality is now available on Samsung tablets
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold became official at the beginning of December, but we are still learning new details about it. The latest tidbit to emerge is that the phone will support Samsung’s Second Screen feature, so you’ll be able to use it as an additional PC monitor.
This comes via Android Authority and looks to be a great way to make use of that huge 10-inch main screen. For comparison, the entry-level iPad released in 2025 has an 11-inch screen (which obviously doesn’t fold into two points).
We’ve seen the Second Screen feature before on Samsung’s Android tablets, which allows you to extend the desktop of a Windows PC to the mobile device, essentially treating it as an external monitor, with a variety of configuration options available.
Even better, everything works wirelessly, via the Miracast standard: you don’t even need to wire anything. According to Android Authority, you can find second screen functionality on the Galaxy Z TriFold by heading to Connected devices from Settings in One UI.
Stretching
This is in addition to all the other features that the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold brings with it. It’s the first Samsung phone to offer standalone DeX, meaning you can switch to a desktop-like interface on the phone itself, without the need for a second screen or device.
You can also use a feature called Extended Mode on the Galaxy Z TriFold to project the phone’s screen onto an external monitor, a bit like Second Screen in reverse. There’s certainly a lot here to keep you as productive as possible.
Apple engineers currently working on the foldable iPhone would do well to take note: if it inherits some of the second-screen capabilities shown here and available on current iPads, then it will be a much more useful device.
The Galaxy Z TriFold goes on sale in South Korea tomorrow and will be available in the US during the first quarter of 2026, although we don’t know for how much. As of now, there is no word on whether or not the phone will be sold in the UK or Australia.
