The world of university football saw the first player waiting due to the negotiations in Tennessee with the field marshal Nico Iamaleva, which led many to speculate who was fine and the incorrect thing in the first dilemma of its kind.
Add the former University Soccer Coach Urban Meyer to that mix.
Meyer argued it in his podcast “The Triple option”. And no, it’s not all of Tennessee and chief coach Josh Heupel doing a position and does not give to the null demands of Iamaleva.
“Here is the reality: Tennessee is screwed,” Meyer explained. “They obtained a problem. You lose a possible selection of potential Draft. You have the backup field marshal last year, and now you have a first year student of a red shirt who launched nine passes as a first -year student. You have zero experience and the portal opens while we talk. They will have to go looking for one.”

The same transfer portal that is directed Iamaleava is where Tennessee is looking for a new potential headline that goes to the 2025 season. Heupel and his program did not expect to be in this position, but sent a severe message when asked about the dilemma of the field marshal in which he is located.
“It’s the state of university football,” Heupel told the VOL network on Saturday. “At the end of the day, no one is bigger than the program. That also includes me.

“We have a chance. We have a group of types that are going to give everything for Tennessee. We advance. We have a large group. We are going to compete.”
As Meyer mentioned, Iamaleva is expected to be a first round talent that is directed to the NFL 2026 draft. He wanted to renegotiate his null agreement of $ 10 million with the VOLS, which covered several years, according to ESPN.
The crack between the field marshal and the team was irreconcilable, and Tennessee let it know when Iamaleva was out of the spring games list.
Many praised Tennessee for their position, which included the chief coach of the Miami Hurricanes, Mario Cristobal, who made clear his own program that would not be tolerated.

“We are not going to do that in Miami, and I say it without hesitation,” he said in the spring game of hurricanes, according to Sun-Sentinel. “If someone thinks that, and they could be the best player in the world, if they want to play, they could also play.”
However, Meyer believes that fans will forget about Tennessee’s position if he is not winning. After all, Iamaleva took the team to the university American football playoff last season.
“Everyone says: ‘Good job Tennessee, doing a position.’ I received a small comment about that.
Meyer said he does not have the right answer to Tennessee now that he separated from iamaleva. But as someone who has seen almost everything in university football, he cannot believe the situation today.

“I, as a guy who has been involved almost 40 years in this game, I can’t believe this happened,” he said.
Iamaleva has been linked to Oregon as a possible destination, according to multiple reports.
