The German consul general in Karachi has announced the immediate suspension of visa services for non -European citizens (EU) until new notice.
In an official statement issued in X, the Consulate confirmed that the suspension applies to all applicants who are not from the EU, including those with visa appointments already confirmed. The Consulate clarified that these appointments have been canceled and will not be reprogrammed.
The affected applicants have been advised to register again for appointments once the consulate resumes their services. Updates on the situation will be issued as they are available, said the consulate, expressing their appreciation for the public’s understanding during interruption.
Earlier this month, Sweden announced the resumption of Visa services in Islamabad after bilateral political consultations (BPC) between the Foreign Ministries of Pakistan and Sweden, held in Stockholm on July 2.

As of July 7, Pakistani citizens can request a Schengen visa from inside Pakistan to visit Sweden for up to 90 days.
The Pakistaní delegation to bilateral consultations in Stockholm was directed by the Secretary of Additional Foreign Affairs (Europe), while the Swedish side was directed by the General Director of Global Affairs of the Ministry of Swedish Foreign Affairs.
