The investigation into the case of high profile attack of May 9 GHQ has seen its investigating officer replaced for the second time, police sources confirmed Monday on Monday.
The case, registered at the Bazaar Police Station, appoints the founding president of PTI Imran Khan and other key party leaders as defendants.
According to the sources, Inspector Tariq Gondal has now been appointed as the new research officer of the GHQ attack case under the anti -terrorism law.
Inspector Nazim Shah, the second previous investigator officer, retired after completing his mandate, while the first officer, Mirza Javed, was returned from the investigation after his promotion to DSP.
Inspector Tariq Gondal, which already serves as a investigator officer in two other cases of May 9, will now handle the GHQ attack case. He is also investing the attack at the Waris Khan subway station and cases related to disturbances, causes and vandalism in Liaquat Bagh Chowk on May 9.
The retired inspector Nazim Abbas delivered all the investigation of the inspector Gondal, including the case file, the list of witnesses and the statements remembered.
The sources added that in the next trial hearings in the jail of the GHQ attack case, the newly appointed officer will submit the complete record in the Court. All defendants released on bail will also be formally informed through the official correspondence.
