Wyndham Clark had an unfortunate final round in the PGA championship last weekend.
The winner of the 2023 United States Open reacted to a poor t -shirt blow on Sunday by dangerously launching his driver to the signaling near the Tee box. Clark had just committed a bogey before hitting his exit blow to the right in Hole 16.
Clark did not wait for the shot to land before violently throwing the club, which missed the volunteer who was holding a flag.

The driver left a remarkable hole on the sign. The driver was also damaged, with the club’s head. Clark responded by throwing a part of the broken club aside, leaving behind both pieces of the driver while walking towards the golf ball in the bunker.

On Monday, Clark said his “actions were not necessary” and promised to make improvements.
“I would like to sinite myself sincerely for my behavior yesterday in Hole 16,” Clark said in a publication for X. “As professionals, we are expected to remain professionals, even when frustrated and unfortunately I let my emotions get the best of me. My actions were not followed and completely inappropriate, making it clear that I have things in which I need to work.”

Clark also admitted that “it fell short” of the “high level” to which it remains.
“I stay at a high level, trying to always play for something bigger than me, and yesterday I ran out of the standards. That’s why I’m really sorry. I promise to improve the way I handle my frustrations in the course in the future and I hope everyone can forgive me in due time.”
Clark had a difficult performance at the Charlotte’s Quail Hollow Club, the place for this year’s PGA championship.

At a time during his time in the nine strikers, Clark produced four consecutive Bogeys. The tournament ended in a draw for the 50th position in the classification.
Scottie Scheffler won the championship to ensure the third major of her career. Clark finished 15 blows behind Scheffler.
