The Government has announced a reduction in fuel prices, as of February 16, 2025.
High speed diesel (HSD), which is widely used in agriculture and transport sectors, will see a price drop per liter. The new price for HSD will be RS263.95, below the previous rate of RS267.95 per liter.
In addition to HSD, the price of gasoline has also been reduced by RS1 per liter. The new gasoline price will be RS256.13, after a similar decrease in the second half of February 2025.
In addition, the prices of kerosene and light diesel have been lowered to RS5 per liter. The kerosene will now be available at RS171.65 per liter, while the light diesel will cost RS155.81 per liter.
In a statement, the Ministry of Finance said that the Petroleum and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has reviewed and adjusted the consumer prices of oil derived products in view of recent fluctuations in the international oil market.
In addition, he said that the prices of these products had been set for the next fortnight of the current month.
