ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Home Affairs on Friday approved the deployment of Pakistan Army and civil armed forces for the by-elections scheduled for November 23.

In its order, the ministry stated that the deployment was approved at the request of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

Civilian armed forces will be deployed as second-level response units, with reserve/rapid reaction force status only, the ministry added.

Pakistan Army will be deployed as “third level responder (in situ quick reaction force mode)”.

The Ministry of Interior stated that the deployment of the armed forces was aimed at supporting the ECP to ensure the “peaceful conduct of the by-elections to be held on November 23, 2025.”

This is a developing story and is being updated with more details.
