The Government assigns RS600m to put man in space

The next budget is likely to see the allocation of billions of rupees for Pakistan’s advances in space exploration, including the country’s pride project to send your first man to space and a communication satellite system of several missions.

The federal government has proposed the assignment of RS24 billion to the Commission for the Investigation of Space and the upper atmosphere (Supparco) in the Development Budget for the next fiscal year 2025–26. The allocation includes RS600 million for the manned space mission in the next fiscal year.

According to officials, more than 18 billion would be spent on the multiple mission communication satellite system; RS4 billion for a new Pakistan lunar exploration project; RS1.8 billion for the astronomical project of deep space; and RS1.7 billion for the Pakistan optical remotetection satellite project.

Other assignments, according to officials: more than RS5 billion would be assigned for the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC); more than 50 billion for the Cabinet division; and RS50 billion for schemes of members of Parliament.

The Government plans to spend RS134.2 million for the development of infrastructure in the Federal Capital, RS1 billion for the restoration and improvement of national and RS650 million archives for the construction of the Hajj complex in Lahore.
