The authorities in the Kurram district have demolished four more bunkers as part of the ongoing efforts to enforce a local peace agreement, while rival factions will hold a second round of conversations in Peshawar today, according to Express News.
According to district officials, the elimination of bunkers is proceeding as agreed, and the latest demolitions take place in Balish Khel and Anarkali using explosives.
Until now, a total of 26 bunkers have been dismantled, with more ongoing operations.
The authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to implement the Kohat Peace Agreement, whose objective is to stabilize the region. Measures such as escorted convoys are also being introduced to guarantee public safety.
Meanwhile, the sources told Express News that after a key meeting in Islamabad, rival factions will meet again in Peshawar for new negotiations.
The first discussions covered security concerns and the misuse of social networks.
The next Jirga will focus on detailed peace conversations and confidence construction measures between opposite groups.
Police officer martyred by injuries at Kurram Attack against AC
