The government denies PTI’s claims about Bushra’s health

The Punjab Department of Interior categorically denied a report published in the online newspaper of the United Kingdom the Independent about the “inhuman” treatment that is carried out to the PTIran Khan head pattern and his spouse Bushra Bibi during his imprisonment, stating that both the husband and the wife were “receiving complete legal entities.”

While talking to the British newspaper, Zulfiqar Ali Bukhari, a close assistant to Imran, said that the founding president of PTI and his wife had been subjected to a “psychological” torment in prison. Bibi was “seriously ill,” he said, and “fainted in prison” due to heat almost two weeks ago.

Bukhari told The Independent that even the water supplied to Bibi for ablutions had “had mud, sand and earth inside him, by the way.”

In January, Khan and Bibi were sentenced to 14 and seven years in prison, respectively, in the reference of £ 190.

In response to the article, the Punjab Department of Interior declared that both Khan and Bibi were receiving “complete legal rights” in jail.

In a statement, he described the claims made in the British online newspaper as “without foundation, politically charged and factically incorrect.”

The Punjab Department of Interior said that both Khan and Bibi had received facilities from the class A prison and had access to uninterrupted electricity without any load creation. The department added that they undergo daily medical check -ups and receive full medical support.

The statement also indicated that food was served in line with its personal preferences, while legal and family visits were allowed according to judicial orders. Both detainees have remained in the same cell since their arrival and have not been transferred or isolated, he said.

When qualifying the report, an attempt to “deceive the global public”, the Punjab Department of Interior emphasized that Pakistan maintains the rights of prisoners in accordance with legal and humanitarian norms.
