The government ensures continuous support in the Aafia case

Islamabad:

The Minister of Information and Radiodifusion, Attaullah Tarar, reaffirming the diplomatic and legal support to Aafia Siddiqui, said on Monday that the comments of the Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar were taken out of context.

The Government has continually providing diplomatic and legal support in the case of Aafia Siddiqui, said the minister, while talking to the media after attending a book launch ceremony in the National Language Promotion Department in Islamabad.

A committee has also been formed, headed by the Minister of Law, to facilitate the progress in the matter, added the minister.

Tarar said the titular government is making unprecedented efforts for the release of Aafia Siddiqui compared to the previous regimes.

DPM and FM ISHAQ Dar is not a member of the Sugar Advisory Board, he added, urging the media to verify any news before issuing it.

Regarding the regulation of cryptocurrencies, the minister said that a system has been established that includes the formation of a cryptographic council and the drafting of relevant laws.

He underlined the growth of cryptocurrency in Pakistan and criticized the narrative of former finance minister Miftah Ismail on the subject, suggesting that he aligns with the position of India and is contrary to terrestrial realities.
