“Year 2 of the first street hugs and see you living your dreams,” he wrote in the subtitle on Instagram along with a photo of the two walking in the golf course. “Second season in the books: forever grateful to be on this walk with you, here there are many more!

“I love you, sweet boy, you make it so easy to be proud.”

The heartbreaking message came to light when his death was revealed on Instagram by a friend.

“Makena was unique,” said Friday’s publication. “He had this rare way to make you feel special, and his huge heart was always full of love. Being loved by Makena was a gift; one that came with endless laughs, so much joy and a good pinch of chaos while trying to follow his travel schedule.”

Knapp broke his silence through his manager.

“It is a euphemism to say how difficult it is to process all this for all who met Mak, especially his family and friends, who deserve privacy and respect during this difficult time,” said Associated Press.

“Makena was such a reflective person whose disinterest towards others is something that I will always appreciate. We share so many unforgettable memories together and now that he is no longer with us, it is a difficult reality to understand.
