The Michigan high school soccer player who was the victim of a body body that fractured his spine, Colton Mims, visited with his teammates before his game on Friday.
Mims, 15, who plays for Lakeshore High School, was in a wheelchair during his visit. Courtney Mims, Colton’s mother, said Colton is dealing with two “small fractures” in his spine in an interview with a local Michigan television station.

Colton was injured when a Kalamazoo Central High School player jumped on him at the end of a play last Thursday.
The Michigan High School Athletics Association (MHSAA) took action against the player on the disturbing game.

“Our staff has been talking to both schools since Friday. Kalamazoo Central has taken this matter very seriously and have taken strong and decisive measures,” MHSAa told Pak Gazette Digital. “Due to students’ privacy laws, we cannot reveal specific responsibility actions, but have exceeded what MHSAa’s regulations would require in cases of dangerous and unsportsmanlike behavior.
“Our schools can provide additional details while deciding to do so, since they are handling things internally.”

The player who was the target of the pancake suffered injuries in the column, according to his mother.
“An incident that occurred during the Junior University Soccer game of Kalamazoo Central High School on September 19 was the action of an individual student who showed an atrocious act against an opposite player in the opposite team,” said the public schools of Kalamazoo.
“This type of behavior is unacceptable and does not reflect the values of sports, respect and integrity that Kalamazoo’s public schools expect from students athletes, coaches and the entire school community.”
