
A combat plane of the Air Force of India Jaguar has crashed in Jamnagar de Gujarat, with a pilot safely expelling while one search is underway for the other.
“While a pilot was safely expelled before the accident, another is still missing. The plane caught fire after the accident. Police and firefighters rushed to the place and began to look for the lost pilot,” said a local news agency citing the Superintendent of the Premukh Delu Police.
The videos of the scene in Suvarda Village, 12 km from the city of Jamnagar, show a flame field, with the cabin and tail of the starry plane burning in separate areas.
India Air Force officials (IAF) said the twin jaguar was in a routine training mission.
The jaguar is a double motor hunting bomber, available in individual and twin variants, and is widely used by the IAF. He first induced in the late 1970s, has undergone significant improvements over the years.
On March 7, another IAF Jaguar crashed in Ambala after a system malfunction. The pilot moved the plane away from the residential areas before he safely expel.
