- Framework and Nvidia have been associated to introduce interchangeable portable GPUs, starting with a new RTX 5070 module
- Framework 16 laptop with RTX 5070 is now available for pre-pedido, and the GPU module will soon be sold separately for updates
- This idea is an improveable MXM laptop GPUs from the past
Updating a game notebook to get better performance means buying a completely new system, perhaps one of the best laptops of games that exist, but a laptop manufacturer, Marco and Nvidia expect to change all that.
As reported by Verge, the Laptop Framework 16 computer presents a graphic module NVIDIA RTX 5070 update, which allows players to exchange the existing GPU with a new and more powerful. This laptop framework 16 that packs the RTX 5070 module is now available for pre-pedido, with the first batch shipment in November.
Framework states that the installation of the Blackwell graphics module takes ‘less than five minutes’ using the tools provided, and for what it seems, the installation must be a simple process of slot and screw after eliminating the existing GPU.
While there is still no option to buy it, Framework will sell the NVIDIA RTX 5070 graphics module individually.
Essentially, this is providing the advantage of a PC for desktop games to the world of laptops, which makes possible easy GPU updates. Of course, the RTX 5070 mobile graphics card is not as powerful as its desktop counterpart, but still offers a lot of growl for a notebook. And it is clearly a great update of the AMD Radeon RDM 7700s GPU of the laptop of the frame laptop.
Now, it is worth noting that this is not the first adjustable laptop GPU. The MXM GPUs allowed the players to make this same trick of changing an old laptop graphics card for a new model.
However, these more practically disappeared in the last decade (at least for conventional laptop games or computers), and also were not the best option for non -expert technology players anyway. The installation required a deeper disassembly and complications, including reaplating thermal paste.
On the contrary, with the frame and new NVIDIA GPU module, it is claimed that it only takes a few minutes to install through a simple process of deceleration and replacement. The final result is a Blackwell GPU more than capable with tools such as DLSS 4 Generation Multi Frame at your disposal. There is also a USB-C exit in the module that can be transmitted to an external monitor and load the system simultaneously.
ANALYSIS: Could we see something similar for the springs in the future?
Interchangeable chips on hand computers may sound crazy at this time, but what could we cancel at this time?
Interchangeable portable GPUs are not completely unknown, as already noted, but in contemporary times, they may have sounded like a myth for many, but now they are a reality again.
We are already seeing amazing designs such as a DIY RTX 4090 hand -proof handling computer, and the GPD wins 5 with removable battery functionality (which can be negative for some) while using the most potent AMD APU, the AI Ryzen Max+ 395.
If that is not a strong sign that things only go up from here in terms of PC Hardware of portable games, then I am not sure what it is, and I will not be surprised if we see something similar to which Marco and Nvidia have cooked here in future handwangers.
