The Federal Interior Ministry has asked the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) authorities to provide records of Afghan students registered in the province as part of an update of the database of their foreigners.
The Ministry’s security cell sent an official letter to the provincial Secretary of Interior, which instructed that the details of the Afghan students will be presented before March 27.
The movement occurs when Pakistan approaches the final phase of their repression against undocumented foreigners, including holders of the Afghan Citizen Card (ACC).
The government has ordered all illegal Afghan residents to leave before March 31.
The authorities say that more than 876,000 Afghans have already abandoned Pakistan since the repatriation campaign began, and thousands are expected to leave in the next few days.
The Government has assured that deportations will be carried out humanly.
To facilitate the process, officials have fixed medical and food assistance for those who return. However, the authorities warn that strict legal measures will be taken against those who remain beyond the deadline.
Previously, the KP Government had decided to comply with the federal government’s decision on the repatriation of Afghan refugees.
However, it has been made clear that refugees would not be expatrified by the force of KP, but they would be given the opportunity to voluntarily return to their homeland.
For this, they will also be provided with the necessary facilities.
The central government has granted a deadline of March 31, 2025 to all Afghan refugees who are illegal or have registration test cards to leave Pakistan and return to Afghanistan.
