The first snowfall and rain of the winter season was recorded in several mountainous areas of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday.

Rain and snow continued to lash the upper parts of the country on Thursday as the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) issued a weather alert.
According to the National Emergency Operations Center (NEOC), rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected in several areas during the next 12 to 24 hours.
An alert has also been issued for possible snowfall and landslides in the northern regions.
Citizens are recommended to avoid unnecessary travel and take precautionary measures in areas prone to landslides.
A persistent spell of unexpected, heavy and unseasonable rains continued to lash Azad Jammu and Kashmir for the third consecutive day on Thursday, as temperatures fell sharply and disrupted daily life across the state.
