- The dynamic island of the iPhone 17 Pro could be smaller
- This is a long -term rumor by phone
- We will discover it safely at launch next Tuesday
We are counting the days for the launch of the iPhone 17 launch in our Apple Live events blog, but with the program that is quickly approaching, we are still seeing the leaks online, including a new rumor on the dynamic island on the iPhone 17 Pro.
According to a Tipster X (through Macrumors), the dynamic island on Pro and Pro Max phones could be about to become smaller. This particular source has no history to talk about, but there are multiple images to admit the statements.
What is more, in addition to the fact that the tip is collected by an important site of Apple rumors, it fits the previous rumors of multiple sources that the dynamic island would be reduced in some models of the iPhone 17, or at least change the size and shape in some way.
The amount of talk about this particular modification means that we are smarter to believe that it will happen, although, of course, nothing is safe until Apple really presents the four iPhone 17 models that we expect.
History of the island
Perhaps remember that Dynamic island appeared for the first time in 2022 on the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, replacing the notch. In addition to housing elements such as the Facial Identification Chamber, it also offered a space for iOS and applications installed to show real -time information.
With the iPhone 15 series, the dynamic island reached all the smart phones of the Apple flagship series, and that continued with iPhone 16 phones last year. However, the one that appeared in February 2025 was left out of the iPhone 16E, which uses the oldest notch.
The dynamic island has not changed since it was introduced in 2022, and it is not clear what would be the benefits of making it smaller, although there would be more real screenshot on display, and can eventually disappear completely.
This is only one of the many changes that have been predicted for the iPhone 17, from a revised camera control to more battery life. We will cover all ads on Tuesday, September 9, and you can also see live.
