An Israeli attack near a help point directed by the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) killed at least 30 people in Rafah, the Wafa Palestinian news agency and the media affiliated with Hamas said on Sunday.

There were no immediate comments from Israel about the reported attack, which Wafa said he injured more than 115 people.

The GHF, also backed by Israel, recently began operating in Gaza.

While some Palestinians have expressed concern about their neutrality and biometric checks and other checks, Israel said it would use, Israeli officials maintain that it allows the detection of recipients to exclude anyone who is connected with Hamas.

High fire conversations

Hamas has presented a counterproposal to the United States for a high fire in Gaza, including a 60 -day truce, limited hostages and start of negotiations for a high permanent heat. However, the United States has quickly rejected the response as “totally unacceptable.”

According to the documents obtained by Al JazeeraHamas has offered to launch 10 live Israeli captives in three stages and return the bodies of 18 more. In return, it requires the release of an agreed number of Palestinian prisoners.

The proposal also requires the entry of unconditional humanitarian aid through the UN and the affiliated agencies, and for negotiations on a high permanent fire to begin the first day of the truce. Hamas also requested a guarantee of the Trump administration, cited in the draft of the proposal, to support conversations towards a final agreement.

The special envoy of the United States, Steve Witkoff, criticized the answer, saying that he would only “lead us to retreat” and urged Hamas to accept the frame already presented by Washington and his allies.

“That is the only way we can close a 60 -day fire agreement in the next few days, in which half of the living hostages and half of those who died will return home with their families,” Witkoff said in an X post, previously Twitter.

A senior Hamas official, who spoke with the regional media, said that the group’s counterofferte was intended to be a “positive response” and focused on ensuring a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and a high binding fire.

The Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, echoed the evaluation of the American envoy, rejecting Hamas’ proposal and accusing the group to remain rooted in the “rejection.”

The Israel War in Gaza

The Gaza Ministry of Health said Sunday that at least 3,785 people had been killed in the territory since a high fire collapsed on March 18, which has the general cost of the war to 53,939, mostly civilians, according to AFP.

Israel’s atrocities have displaced around 90% of the estimated 2 million residents of Gaza, created a severe hunger crisis and have caused generalized destruction throughout the territory.

The Israeli army has followed a brutal offensive against Gaza since October 2023, killing at least 61,000 Palestinians, most of them women and children, according to Al Jazeera.

The International Criminal Court issued arrest orders last November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.

Israel also faces a case of genocide in the International Court of Justice for its war in the enclave.
