‘The Khawatoons’ prepares for a comedy show All Girls on Friday

Karachi:

‘The Khawatoons’ continue to return to district 19. They have previously made more than five shows there. Now, the comedy group All Girls plans to act in the place this Friday in Karachi. The event will continue from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm from September 19.

The program promises a night “full of fresh jokes, fast ingenuity and the type of laugh that you don’t want to lose.” It is described to be 16+ and we can expect a comedy for adults of the group, according to their Instagram.

Speaking to the Express PakGazette, Ashika Shaikh, a member of the Khawatoons group, said it is a show of Solo Ladies. “It is a safe space for women to enjoy adult comedy,” he said. “Our shows are super -interactive and largely depend on the participation of the audience, so a single show for women allows the ladies to leave their shell and release with us, so that is what you should expect.”

Tickets for the event can be bought in Ticketwala and at the entrance of the place. Each ticket costs 1500 rs.

The event is organized by District 19, which is a multifunctional urban space that brings together people ready to stretch their minds with new experiences. It is for related people, both local and travelers. It is also an alternative access point to meet in Karachi with a space to create and share, co -workers, learn and socialize.

The Khawatoons was founded in 2016 by Faiza Salem. It was and remains the first comedy company of the women of Pakistan, which has been strengthened for nine years and Ashika has been part of it for eight years.

Reflecting on working in a mostly male dominant comedy field in Pakistan, Ashika said he has to work twice more difficult to do in line with his male counterparts. This is because they are not only making comedy, they are also actively struggling in the stereotype that women are not fun. “So you are working very hard to appease an audience that wants you not to be fun,” he said.

Offering a more positive perspective on his personal trip, Ashika said: “We have been lucky and we have been in this for so long that we have found our voice and found our place and people.” Its current members of the company consist of Faiza, Ashika, Jaweria Khan, Amtul Baweja, Nimra Ali Zaidi, Amtul Baweja, Shanzeh Ishtiaq and Zemal Amin.

The group has acted in different places around Karachi throughout the year, as City Campus and Habit City was going, and is preparing for their next show.

So gather your friends and wait for some jokes of the ladies this week!
