The last of us Creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have confirmed what the game fans already expected: The last of us Season 3 will focus on Abby’s story, with Kaitlyn’s character, taking the center of the stage.
Where The last of us Season 1 followed the rhythms of the first game with enough faith, the second game is more complex and needs more time to tell its story, so where The last of us Season 2 focused mainly on Ellie after the horrible events of episode two and the only part of the arch of history, the third season will make the same change of the protagonist we experience in the game and will give us much longer with Abby.
That suggests that the rumored fourth and last season (that the composer of the Jake Staley program suggests that it is definitive, revealing The last of us The Savage Starlight podcast that “there will be at least two more seasons, no doubt”) will return to Ellie for its desperately sad and desperately sad climax.

What to expect from the last season 3 of us
As the Hollywood Reporter explains (with some spoilers from the great moments of season 2), season 3 will feel different. “It is more a water season than a fire season,” Druckmann revealed, as Mazin added, “it is a more humid season than a hottest season.” And “The third season will star in – Spoiler Alert – Kaitlyn”.
I am excited about season 3, although with some reservations: like someone who loved and was probably deeply traumatized playing The last part of us part III felt that season 2 of the television program did not feel that the game did.
That is inevitable with any adaptation, I know, but there were two things in particular that stood out for me (and for my teenager, who is also a fan of the games): the representation of Bella Ramsay de Ellie and Kaitlyn’s casting as Abby.
In the game, Ellie is a monster, and Abby is built as a tank, her muscular body is a great contrast to Ellie’s thinner construction. But in Ellie season 2 she is sad, not angry, and Kaitlyn Dever does not have the physical presence of her equivalent in the game. But his anger is equally terrifying, so maybe he just needs to forget the game and let the program do his own.
I think one of the things Mazin said about the program explains the different tone of the television program compared to the game: “For me, this is not a program on revenge,” he said. “It’s a show about pain.” But if you have played the game until the end, you will know that it is both: it is a meditation in the damage that pain can make to people, both for them and for others.
The last of us Season 2 is now transmitted to HBO Max.
