- Another iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max Leak has appeared
- We may have brighter screens and a better battery life
- The phones will be announced next Tuesday
We know that the iPhone 17 series will be launched on Tuesday, September 9, but we still have a few days of leaks and rumors, and the last fragment of unofficial information to emerge points to some promising updates.
According to Tipster Instant Digital (through Appleinsider), we can expect the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the most expensive of the four early models, maintain higher levels of shine on the screen for more periods of time.
In addition, it is said that phones are better to handle the highest internal temperatures that are typical when they play demanding games. The phones will be more stable in these scenarios, says the Tipster, with fewer drops of Marco.
The same source also says that performance has been improved when the video at 4K 60 fps has been improved, and battery efficiency is also better, which should lead to longer times between loads. All of these sound as positive updates about current models.
Current comparisons
This last leak is a bit light in the details, but we do know that both the iPhone 16 Pro and the iPhone 16 Pro Max offer a maximum outdoor brightness of 2,000 nits, with a typical maximum brightness of 1,600 nits, according to Apple’s specifications.
There is definitely improvement margin there, compared to the best Android phones. The recently presented Google Pixel 10 Pro, for example, reaches a maximum brightness of 3,300 nits, so the new iPhones could approach this brand.
As for the battery life, Apple puts this in up to 27 hours of video playback on the iPhone 16 Pro, and up to 33 hours in the Pro Max. That is already quite impressive, but, of course, any improvement in battery life (as previously rumored) is welcome.
We will know all this and safer in just a few days. We already have our live blog of the iPhone 17 in operation, and of course, we will cover all the news of the 10 am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST on September 9 (that is at 3 am aest on September 10).
