- The Salter Vericook is a two -level air fryer similar to the double ninja battery
- It has a slightly lower capacity, but the two have similar specifications
- The verticook is much cheaper than the double battery, which costs only £ 119.99
The British company Salter (better known for its cooking scales) has launched a new two -level air fryer that occupies much less space in its countertop than traditional double cavator models. The 9L Salter Vericook looks very similar to the Ninja Double Stack XL, but with a much more modest price.
The Ninja Double Stack XL has long occupied a place in our summary of the best air fryers, and took the award for the best air fryer in the 2024 Techradar Choice Awards thanks to its intelligent design and consistent results, whether you are preparing a lot of fried papers or preparing a complete meal.
However, it is not cheap. In fact, with a list price of £ 269.99, Ninja Double Stack XL is one of the most expensive models we have tried. It fell as low as £ 198 during the sale of Amazon spring days, but even that is towards the upper end of the scale for a double drawer fryer.
That’s where the new Salter Vericook enters. This air fryer has a capacity slightly lower than the double XL pile (it is smaller half -liter inside), but its design is extremely similar to Ninja, already £ 119.99 when it is bought directly from Salter, it is less half of the price.
See double
As my T3.com colleagues pointed out, one of the biggest differences between the two levels of salter and ninja is that the Salter model has a clear window in each drawer so that it can verify the progress of its food without opening it.
However, this also means that the Salter fryer does not look as intelligent as the elegant Double Stack XL, an effect that is amplified by the use of salter plastic instead of metal for the drawer handles.
The double ninja battery has six cooking modes (Air Fry, Max Crisp, Toast, Horne, Dehydration and Reheating), while Salter Vericook has 12 prejustments optimized for different dishes. Both air fryers allow you to synchronize the baskets so that different foods finish cooking at the same time and allowing you to use two articles in each drawer simultaneously.
Of course, we cannot really say if the verticook can match the double pile for cooking performance until we have tried both side by side. I hope to do exactly that and offer you a complete comparison very soon.
