- The optional Windows 11 update for March has just arrived
- This pre -view update includes a correction for a printer error that caused random characters to produce
- The cure will be tested in this optional version and then will become part of the full patch for Windows 11 23h2 launched in early April
Remember that the really strange printer error with Windows 11 23h2, who made it seem that your printer was possessed? There are some good news for those affected in which Microsoft’s last update has cured this problem.
The Glitch was introduced into an update of previous view published at the end of January 2025, which caused the printer to mysteriously produce pages full of random characters. It only affected the printers that were hooked by USB, the mind, and mainly happened when the device turned on, although that undoubtedly scared a few people.
However, Microsoft has just released the update of preview of March for Windows 11, packing enough candy, as happens, and that also contains the solution for this strange error of the printer.
Neowin informs that in an update of the Windows 11 health board related to the error, Microsoft informs us: “This problem was solved by the Windows updates launched on March 25, 2025 (KB5053657) and later. We recommend that you install the last update for your device, since it contains important improvements and problem resolutions, including this.”
Analysis: not catastrophic and a bit fun, but still wasteful
Okay, this is far from the worst Windows 11 error we have seen, and 24h2 users have been suffering all kinds of really strange errors that are hanging them in particular (players have also been merciless). There have also been Gremlins that crawl into the depths of Windows 11, which has made the printers stop working (at least partially) in the past.
At least this fault did nothing as bad as that, and even had a humorous side, in terms of the aspect of “possessed printer.” That said, wasting paper and ink will not be fun if the error continues to happen, as it apparently did, without the way of stopping it. That is a very ecological perspective, even on a small scale like this.
In any case, it is good to see that Microsoft has fixed this key in the works in a relatively timely way. However, there is a precautionary note to sound here, which is that the resolution of this printer problem is only in a pre -view update at this time. These updates, which arrive at the end of the month to test the land before the full version of the patch the following month, are optional for a reason.
Previous view updates are still in what is effectively the final stage of the tests, so things can still go wrong with them. That means that this solution may not function as expected or could cause unwanted side effects in other parts of Windows 11 (that certainly happened before).
In this case, if the error of the printer is something that is finding annoying, you probably want to obtain the update of prior view of March and risk. The good news is that even if you prefer to wait, it will not have to be patient for a long time, since the solution will be contained in the April accumulated update for Windows 11 23h2 (arriving on April 7, so it is now only a week and a half).
