- More rumors have emerged about the iPhone Fold
- The displays are apparently entering mass production.
- We expect minimal creasing.
So far, all evidence points to a 2026 launch for the long-awaited iPhone Fold, and some new leaks in recent days may have revealed a couple of crucial pieces of information about this Apple phone.
First of all, well-known tipster Instant Digital says that Samsung-made displays for the foldable iPhone are about to enter the mass production stage, a sure sign that a device will be released in the coming months.
Second, another veteran leaker, Fixed Focus Digital, has gone on record saying that the foldable iPhone’s fold will be flatter and less visible than many of the best foldables currently on the market.

The source says (via Google Translate) that the “industry outlook” is that “the first iPhone foldable screen may have a flatter surface than many currently available foldable screen models produced domestically.”
Crumpling
We know from previous leaks that Apple wanted the fold of the iPhone Fold to be as invisible as possible. In fact, this attention to detail may be part of the reason it has taken Apple so long to release a device in this particular category.
With this in mind, we can expect a fold to almost completely disappear on the foldable iPhone. Meanwhile, the foldable Oppo Find N6 will launch in the coming days and will also bring with it a nearly invisible fold.
Earlier this week, a report from South Korean outlet The Bell (via 9to5Mac) suggested that the foldable iPhone will come with 12GB of RAM and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB of storage. The starting price for 256GB is expected to be $1,999 in the US (approximately £1,510 / AU$2,860).
The foldable iPhone is expected to launch alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September, and the unveiling of Apple’s first foldable phone would certainly be a fitting way to mark the company’s 50th anniversary.
