LG just revealed its new OLED TVs at CES 2026, and they include a surprising twist to its most popular OLED, the C series: the LG C6 will come in two versions: the LG C6 and the LG C6H.
The good news is that the LG C6H is basically the mid-range OLED that I’ve been desperate for LG to make for the past few years.
LG C6H explained
The LG C6H uses a primary RGB tandem panel, which is essentially what’s on the five-star LG G5. This should mean a big increase in brightness and an improvement in color depth compared to last year’s LG C5.
(Note that the LG G6 is upgrading to a Primary RGB Tandem 2.0 panel, so it will still have a brightness and color advantage over the LG C6H.)
However, this has one big drawback: the C6H only comes in 77- and 83-inch sizes. LG mentioned that this makes sense because these TVs are common for bright living rooms, and 65-inch and smaller ones are common for bedrooms or other secondary uses. I’m not sure it is In fact reflects the US average, let alone the rest of the world, but that’s the information I have for you.
Another thing to note about the C6H is that it doesn’t have as good an anti-reflective coating as the LG G5, despite having the same central OLED panel. This and the regular C6 will be on par in this regard.
The LG C6 and the processor update
The regular LG C6 will use the same type of panel as the LG C5 and comes in 42, 48, 55, and 65-inch sizes. So all of these will be less bright and rich than the C6H sizes, and it’s worth mentioning here that the 42-inch and 48-inch sizes are also less bright than the other sizes, due to how tightly packed the pixels are. So there are actually three levels of LG C6 brightness variations, but only two model names.
However, both the LG C6 and LG C6H will benefit from a processor upgrade. Both models receive the new Alpha 11 Gen 3, and this is notable: Alpha 11 processors were previously reserved only for flagship TVs, but are now coming to mid-range TVs.
LG says this processor is much more powerful and will enable a new level of AI-based enhancement and greatly improved technology to boost SDR to HDR.
It also means that the LG C6 and C6H will have all the features of the LG G6, including support for the new LG Sound Stage soundbar with Dolby Atmos FlexConnect technology and wireless speakers.
Due to the potentially huge difference in performance, we’ll review the LG C6 and C6H as separate models when the time comes. We don’t know when that will be yet, but the first LG TVs usually appear in spring, so I’m guessing they’ll debut in March. We don’t have prices yet.
