The LHC grants freedom on bail to Ejaz Chaudhry in three cases of May 9

The Superior Court of Lahore granted the freedom on bail to the Pakistani leader of Tehreek-E-Insaf, Ejaz Chaudhry, in three different cases related to the incidents of vandalism and fire caused by May 9.

Express News reported that the court announced its verdict reserved on three requests for bail released by Chaudhry. The two -member court, headed by Judge Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi, heard the requests and approved the bail of bail in all three cases.

During the hearing, Chaudhry’s lawyer, Mian Ali Ashfaq, argued that his client had been falsely involved in three cases, including the fire of the Pakistan-Nawaz Muslim League office (PML-N) and a container in the Gulberg area in Lahore.

He argued that the Court of First Instance had not properly evaluated the facts of the cases, while in the same matters, the founder of the PTI had already obtained the freedom on bail. After reviewing the arguments, the LHC granted freedom on bail to Chaudhry in all three cases.

On Tuesday, the LHC expressed its great discontent due to the fact that the Prosecutor’s Office has not presented the case file in the request for the bail of the PTI leader, presented in relation to the cases of disturbances of May 9. During the process, the additional attorney general informed the Court that it did not have the required file.

The court questioned the delay and pointed out that three months had passed despite a clear written order that ordered the presentation of the file. “What have you been doing during all this time? You have to inform the Court,” said the judges, expressing their discontent for the conduct of the Prosecutor’s Office.

The court observed that three separate cases were being considered and ordered that the full file be presented before the next hearing.

Ashfaq, on behalf of Chaudhry, argued that his client was falsely involved and arrested without any concrete evidence, supposedly due to activity on social networks. He said that Chaudhry had not recovered anything and that he had been arrested in Islamabad during his detention period.

On the other hand, the LHC summoned the general lawyer Punjab and the Chief Secretary at the following hearing of the Jamaat-E-Isami request that challenged the fact that the provincial government did not hold elections for local governments.
