A low pressure weathen system on the Eastern Central Sea has been formed and it could be intensified during the weekend, Pakistan’s weather authorities said Thursday.

The Department of Meteorology of Pakistan (PMD) said that the meteorological system was located about 1,075 kilometers southeast of Karachi, near latitude 16.4 NY length 71.9 E.

According to the PMD, the system currently moves north and can evolve towards depression within the next 36 hours. If favorable conditions persist, they could be even more strengthened in a deep depression or even in a cyclonic storm for May 24 or 25.

There is currently no threat to the coastal areas of Pakistan, authorities said, but Cyclone’s warning system is closely monitored the system in Karachi.

Meteorologists say that the warm temperatures of the sea surface are feeding the growth of the system. It is likely that the developing climate pattern also interrupts Karachi’s marine breeze, which leads to extremely hot conditions in the city.

Although a cyclone alert was issued in some parts of India, currently, there is no threat to any Pakistani coastal zone.

The PMD cyclone warning center, Karachi, is monitoring the system and will maintain the relevant rooms aware.
