- The trip covered St. Moritz to Munich without a single charge stop
- The trip included highway, roads and secondary roads
- The attempt improved the previous record in almost 100 miles
Lucid now has an official Guinness World Records trophy to add its cabinet, since its Air Grand Touring tour managed to complete a little less than 749 miles with a single load while traveling on public roads.
The record trip began in St. Moritz, Switzerland and ended in Munich, Germany, with the trip making sinuous mountain passes, rapid road sections and narrow secondary roads in a true real -world rank sample.
Lucid is already considered one of the main figures in efficiency of electric vehicles, with the Air Grand Touring with an official WLTP range (harmonized light vehicle test procedure worldwide) of 960 km (596 miles), but still manages to offer about 831 HP and a maximum speed of almost 170 mph.
The London -based entrepreneur, the hypermiling legend and owner of the world’s strongest bladder, Umit Sabanci, was behind the steering wheel for this attempt, since he had previously established a worldwide guinness record for most countries visited with a single charge in a production electricity vehicle, crossing nine countries in 2024.

Lucid states that Sabanci’s effort exceeded the previous record in about 100 miles and added an amazing 237 miles to the official Wltp range of the vehicle.
This was possible thanks to a very sensible driving, but also for a smart route selection, with the trip effectively starting at the top of the Alps and ending a good 4,300 feet lower in Munich.
Intensive use of regenerative braking would have helped maintain the monster batteries of 112 kWh presumed. Although Lucid is anxious to point out that its loading technology can add an impressive range of 248 miles in just 16 minutes from the appropriate fast charging output, for those who are not interested in traveling almost 750 miles in one blow.
Lucid leads the way in EV efficiency
The manufacturer of electric vehicles of the USA.
Lucid is one of the few to design and produce most of its motor train components, with a laser approach in creating an aerodynamic vehicle that is as light and efficient as possible.
The Air Pure, for example, was one of the first EVs to have an enviable energy efficiency rating of 5 miles per kWh: it will be lucky if you get more than 3 miles per kWh in most modern electric cars.
However, this technology is currently reserved for the richest in society, with air prices that range from $ 69,900 to more than $ 169,000 in the United States.
The company has declared that it plans to produce a more affordable version of its seriously $ 79,900 (around £ 59,000 / au $ 121,000) in the near future, which will be based on a new medium platform and will offer the same type of range as competitors, but with a much smaller battery.
This will allow you to compete with people like Tesla, offering Lucid’s renowned efficiencies to a fraction of the current alignment price.
