Davita, an important American health company that specializes in renal care, has suffered a ransomware attack that forced him to temporarily suspend parts of his operations.
In a new 8-K form presented to the United States Stock Exchange and Securities Commission (SEC), Davita said that in mid-April 2025, he realized a “ransomware incident” that encrypted certain elements of his network.
“After the discovery, we activate our response protocols and implement containment measures, including isolation of proactively impacted systems,” said the company, added that it is currently working to evaluate and remedy the incident, and that it has led to experts of cybersecurity of third parties to experts in assistance.
Supply chain attack
Despite its rapid reaction, the attack still managed to interrupt the company’s operations, it was confirmed.
Even so, the work continues: “The incident is affecting some of our operations, and although we have implemented provisional measures to allow the restoration of certain functions, we cannot estimate the duration or scope of the interruption at this time,” the presentation concluded.
At this time, the identity of the attackers, their rescue demands or the nature of the stolen data is unknown.
