Karachi: frustrated by the fact that a tailor does not deliver clothes in time for the commitment of the brother, a Karachi resident has taken legal actions and requested compensation that amounts to RS100,000.

The citizen approached the Consumer Protection Court (South), looking for the Court to issue a notice to the owner of the store.

The petitioner declared that the tailor had promised to deliver sewn clothes before February 20. Despite visiting the store several times, the clothes were not ready.

The applicant also explained that the delay forced him to buy an alternative outfit for his brother’s commitment ceremony.

In his plea to the Court, the resident requested a fine of RS50,000 for the promise not fulfilled and an additional RS50,000 as compensation for the mental anguish caused by him.

According to the details, the plaintiff gave clothes for Balochi embroidery on three dates in December 2024 and January 2025, with some early payment.

The respondent had promised to deliver the demands finished before the petitioner’s brother’s commitment, which was scheduled on February 20.

When the petitioner went to collect clothes on February 10, 2025, the defendant gave excuses about the lack of availability of workers. After the daily visits of the petitioner, he realized that the clothes were intact.
