The name of the Washington commanders team returned to the news recently after President Donald Trump published on social networks that he wanted the name of the franchise team to return to his old name, the Redskins.
Trump then took another step, threatening to stop the team’s plans to build a new stadium in the capital of the nation if they did not bring the old name.
“My statement about the Washington Redskins has fully exploited, but only in a very positive way,” Trump wrote in a social publication of truth. “I can put a restriction on them that if they do not change the name to the ‘Washington Redskins”, and getting rid of the ridiculous nickname, ‘Washington commanders’, I will not make a deal to build a stadium in Washington. The team would be much more valuable, and the agreement would be more exciting for everyone.”

Trump also called the commanders the “Washington” whatever. “
The mayor of DC, Muriel Bowser, did not seem worried about Trump’s last publication, saying that he is “focused” on obtaining the stadium agreement on his final hump, and that a blockade is probably not “an event that we have to plan.”
“This is what I think: I have had the opportunity to speak on a couple of different occasions with the president about this site and about our team,” Bowser told ESPN. “And I can say this without ambiguity: he is a fan of Jayden Daniels, and told himself, and the presierman in which we were, that this is probably the best place in any place I have seen for a stadium. I have to think that this is what I have heard him say, and that is what we will follow.
“Allow me to be clear: we are in the 1 yard line, and it is time to overcome the line,” he added. “I can’t even imagine having to start everything in this. There is no one waiting on the wings with $ 2.7 billion. Therefore, this stadium is a catalyst, and will attract other investments. Any impediment to be done.

The general manager of the commanders, Adam Peters, also does not flinch, even on the stadium agreement, and maintains their ocular balloons in the product in the field, wherever they play.
“Either the stadium or anything else (not related to football), those things really do not reach us,” said Peters. “We are just trying to concentrate on what is happening here and prepare for the season.”
Trump added that Cleveland’s guardians of the MLB should do the same.
“Cleveland should do the same with the Cleveland Indians. The owner of the Cleveland baseball team, Matt Dolan, who is very political, has lost three elections in a row due to that ridiculous change of name,” Trump said. “What he does not understand is that if he changed the name to the Cleveland Indians, he could actually win an election. The Indians are being treated unfairly. Make the Indians again again (crumb)!”

The front offices of both teams have said that there are no plans to return to their old names, or even change them again in any way.
