Islamabad:
Federal Railroad Minister Hanif Abbasi ordered the railway authorities to adopt modern security technologies and improve emergency preparation to guarantee the safety of passengers at all times.
He presided over a high -level meeting at the Ministry of Railways, attended by the key interested parties, to review the operations of Pakistan Railways and discuss future strategies.
During the meeting, the minister emphasized that the safety of passengers must continue to be the highest priority in rail operations.
He took a detailed informative session on trains schedules, passenger services, technical operations and security protocols.
Abbasi emphasized the need to maintain punctuality in trains arrivals and exits and requested collective efforts to guarantee an efficient and timely service.
He also ordered rail officials to strengthen security in railway stations and trains on board to avoid any adversary incident.
The infrastructure update, including tracks, stations and rolling stock, also stood out as a key approach area.
Abbasi said that the introduction of modern and comfortable trains would encourage more people to use Pakistan railroads as their preferred travel mode.
He emphasized the importance of customer service, urging staff to be professional, polite and useful when it comes to passengers.
He asked for better communication with travelers, making sure they were informed in advance about the time of trains, delays and service interruptions.
He also highlighted the economic potential of Pakistan Railways, encouraging officials to explore new sources of income through private sector associations, better cargo and tourism development services.
The minister pointed out that Pakistan railroads could play a vital role in economic growth and social development due to their extensive network and rich history.
He asked for a renewed commitment of all interested parties to transform Pakistan railroads into a modern, efficient and reliable transport system that meets people’s needs.
