The Federal Minister of Climate Change and Environmental Coordination, Musadik Malik, attended the International Climate Conference held in Samarcanda, Uzbekistan, where global leaders gathered to discuss the environmental challenges pressed in Central Asia.
Samarkand organized the Conference “Central Asia that faces the global climate: consolidation conference for shared prosperity” from April 4 to 5.
The event brought together the heads of the State of Central Asia, leadership of the European Union, high -ranking representatives of international organizations, as well as experts and specialists from Asia, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
The conference was organized to implement the Samarcanda initiative for solidarity in the name of common security and prosperity, which Uzbekistan’s president announced in 2022.
The essence of this initiative is to create a global dialogue platform to address the contemporary challenges pressed, facilitating joint reflection and development of new approaches to guarantee safety and sustainable development.
During the conference, Malik met with world leaders and dignitaries around the world, participating in discussions about climate resilience, green financing and regional cooperation on environmental sustainability.
The climate change minister celebrated an argument with the Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the EAU, Sohail al Mazroui. Separately, he also met Mohammad Abunayyan, Executive Director (CEO) of the Acwa power of Saudi Arabia. He also met with the advisor of the president of Azerbaijan about climate change.
He also delivered a speech during the key session “Climate change in the approach: build the future through joint action”, where he shared the successful experience of Pakistan, environmental initiatives and national priorities to combat the climate crisis.
The minister’s participation reflected Pakistan’s commitment to international climate diplomacy and collaboration solutions against the growing environmental threats.
