Islamabad: The nation celebrates Pakistan’s day with the patriotic zeal and fervor today (Sunday) with Aiwan-E-Sadr that houses the iconic military parade to commemorate the resolution of 1940 Lahore that provided a framework for the realization of the goal of a separate homeland for the Muslims of southern Asia.
President Asif Ali Zardari is the main guest of the Pakistan Day of this year, which also attended Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, heads of services and other dignitaries, which is held in Aiwan-E-Sadr instead of the Shakarpar parade field, which traditionally houses the stop.
The day began with a greeting of 31 and 21 cannons in the capital and federal provinces, respectively.
In his message on Pakistan’s day, President Zardari urged the Pakistani to rise above the differences, reject division and negativity, and work together to build a prosperous, inclusive and only Pakistan.
Congratulating the entire nation, he said that the same spirit that led to the creation of Pakistan can drive us towards a brighter tomorrow.
The president said that Pakistan’s true strength resides in his people, his resistance, hard work and patriotism, which have led this nation in the most difficult times.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz stressed that with the “correct policies, dedicated efforts and national unity, we can achieve economic prosperity, defend social justice and ensure our legitimate place among the nations of the world.”
The prime minister pointed out that Pakistan’s day “reinforces our collective will and serves as a powerful reminder of the values of sacrifice and perseverance, principles embedded in the base of our nation.”
“From an emerging nation to a nuclear energy, our trip has been shaped by perseverance and unwavering determination. However, it is where we stop. It will take firm will, tireless effort and a collective vision to transform Pakistan into the nation imagined by our founding father, Muhammad Ali Jinnaah,” he said.
The president of the Joint Committee of Personnel Heads (CJCSC) and the service leaders extend the sincere congratulations to the nation on the 85th anniversary of the Pakistan Day.
“On March 23, 1940 it is a decisive moment in our history, one day that crystallized our collective vision and established the course for the creation of an independent homeland,” said the statement issued by public relations between services (ISPR).
“Arraigated in faith, guided by hope, and strengthened by resilience, this occasion personifies the unwavering resolution of the Pakistani people.
“Today, Pakistan stands as a responsible and resolved member of the global community: defending peace, stability and cooperation. As a united nation, we move forward with renewed hope and an unwavering commitment to supported prosperity.
