The National Assembly of Pakistan is inviting applications for its six -week parliamentary internship program from June 2025, offering young graduates the opportunity to obtain practical experience in parliamentary operations.

Internship is part of the dissemination efforts of the Assembly under its strategic plan, with the aim of increasing youth participation and civic participation through academic collaboration.

Who can apply

Applicants must have completed at least 14 years of education from an institution recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC). Those enrolled in four -year undergraduate programs are eligible after completing two years (or four semesters). Master’s students can also request.

Eligible academic history includes law, economy, business administration, public administration, finance, trade, human resources, IT, agriculture, media studies and social sciences, among others.

Candidates must have assured at least 60% of qualifications or a CGPA of 2.5 of 4.0. The maximum age limit is 30 years. Students and graduates of remote or sub-present areas, including Baluchistan, southern Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu & Kashmir, are especially encouraged to apply.

What to wait

The selected interns will work full for six weeks, five days a week, for a minimum of eight hours per day. They will undergo an orientation of 3 to 5 days at the Institute of Parliamentary Services (PIP) of Pakistan in Islamabad and then will be assigned to several departments of the National Assembly.

Participants will obtain information on legislative research, public policy and parliamentary procedures. The interns are expected to maintain at least 85% assistance, observe a formal clothing code and remain not partisan during the program. A certificate of completion will be granted after successful participation.
