Google is launching a new application exclusively for Pixel phones that will allow users to gather messages, calls and group chats of various messaging services.
The new besties application will allow users to centralize messages of the contacts chosen in Google messages, WhatsApp and presumably other messaging applications and calls.
An APK disassembly from Android Authority revealed the application Besties in code of a supposedly close update: the best improvements seems to be maintaining a database within Android, which has been shown to have been shown that WhatsApp can access.
In fact, it seems that WhatsApp can only access the best friends due to a special permit given by Google, suggesting a degree of collaboration between the two.
It is traced that other messaging services can also access the database, although there is no way to say with certainty, I would like to see Discord, Microsoft Teams and other target services such as Facebook Messenger and Instagram included in the New Besties application.
An application to govern them all
If besties will be launched, it will mark another step in Google’s continuous work to facilitate communication on all platforms and services, which also includes its text messages defense with RCS between Android and iPhone.
In theory, there would be nothing to prevent a user from adding all their contacts to the besties application and use it as an aggregator for all their mobile communications.
However, this does not seem to be the case of planned use, and I imagine that most users will be a more selective touch with whom you can add.
Personally, I am a fan of the exclusive Pixel applications of Google, which add a sensation of style and exclusivity to the best Pixel phones.
In previous years, Google Pixel devices were considered to execute a “clean” or “android stock, which I am surely attracting minimalist users, but specific applications and features, such as best friends, screenshots and now, now, Reproduction gives the Google Pixel 9 series and their predecessors a certain attraction against rivals such as iPhone 16 or Samsung Galaxy S25.
