It seems David Corenswet isn’t done saving the world yet.
Before independence Superman completely takes flight, the actor is already back in action, as appears in the newly released trailer for Supergirl: the woman of tomorrow.
Yes, the cape stays on.
The March 31 trailer gives fans a quick but telling moment: Superman controlling his cousin, Kara Zor-El, played by Milly Alcock.
“You won’t find your groove here if you keep going out of the world all the time, Kara. I’m worried you won’t find your people,” he tells her.
Your answer? Not exactly hopeful.
“Well, that’s the thing, Clark, I don’t have people.”
And so, the tone is set.
Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film leans into the emotional divide between the Kryptonian cousins. While Clark had Kansas and a moral compass, Kara…not so much.
“Even though they are cousins, there is this almost big brother dynamic that happens and that can be conflictive at times,” Gillespie explained. “He’s a nice guy…and she has to find a way to find herself.”
As for the plot, expect chaos. Kara goes on a three-day mission to save her superdog Krypto after he is poisoned by Krem of the Yellow Hills (played by Matthias Schoenaerts).
Oh, and Jason Momoa appears, but not as much. Aquaman. This time, it’s wild card bounty hunter Lobo.
If Alcock looks familiar, it’s because he burst out Dragon House. Now she’s officially the new one. supergirl – taking on a role previously played by Melissa Benoist and Sasha Calle.
It marks June 26. DC might have found its next big hero.
