The new range of the Philips sound bar has just revealed, and seems a very intelligent set of bars designed to solve key practical problems that not all the best sound bars take into account very well.
First is the B8500 Philips (in the photo above), which is the highest end of the three, and it jumped not only because it is compatible with Dolby Atmos and DTS: X (as all the models do here, in fact) . It is a 5.1 -channel sound bar, with left, central and right speakers, plus two side shooting conductors at an angle, with a separate eight -inch subwoofer.
The three problems with the average range televisions (and quite a lot of high -end) that I see that it solves are:
1) The generally average sound of these televisions. It is a strong sound bar, it sounds much better!
2) Its design is made to accommodate a TV with a central support. Naturally, it is specifically Designed to fit perfectly with Philips OLED810 and Philips MLED950 televisions, also released this year, but it will probably be better adjusted with most televisions that have a central position, instead that you need to put it in front of television to avoid The stand.
3) It has a 4K 120Hz HDMI step, which means that if its TV has two HDMI 2.1 ports for games and that is not enough (since one of them will generally need for the sound bar such as the HDMI EARC port), still You can complete next -generation Nirvana. This will be useful for those with Philips TVs, Panasonic, TCL, Hisense and many Samsung models of medium range.
However, the B8500 Philips disadvantage is that it does not have dedicated rescue speakers, so the Dolby Atmos height effects will be virtual. That can stop it, but a lot will depend on the price, which Philips has not yet revealed. It is planned to launch in September 2025.
The next is the super thin Philips B8200 (above), which also comes with a super long subwoofer, maintaining the appearance of Beanpole. Once again, it has been designed to fit well with televisions that have a central support, as well as those that are very low to the surface, with a height of only 42 mm. It is a 2.1 -channel sound bar, and the long subwoofer has two controllers itself, and can be used vertically or placed. Once again, there is still no price, but it is launched in August 2025.
Finally, the B6100 Philips is designed to be less wide than other sound bars, so it can fit between the feet of the televisions. It is another system of 2.1 channels with a dedicated subwoofer, and will be available in May 2025 (again, without current price).
All these models have Bluetooth for audio transmission, including the Bluetooth LE audio support, which is pleasant and future appearance.
The speakers configurations here are quite basic, so the final verdict on them will be greatly reduced to the price, as well as to the quality of the speaker. But I really like the approach they are adopting when trying to solve the practical design problems that people have with the sound bars, and not only let us realize too late that a good sound bar fits our television and us’ ” ‘I will need a bigger position.
All these are confirmed for a launch of the United Kingdom and Europe; I asked Philips if a launch is planned in the USA. And it will be updated when you receive an answer.
