- The founder of Pebble Smartwatches has reacted the name of Pebble
- The next watches of your central device firm will be renamed
- Now it is expected that the first new pebble watch will be launched in August
If you miss the old days of the pebble watches, you are in luck, since the smartwatch brand that started everything is doing an unexpected return. That means that it will not spend much time before I can slapped a wristwin watch as if it were 2015 again.
Pebble was originally founded by Eric Migicovsky, who now executes central devices, which happened to Pebble when it closed in 2016. Although Migicovsky previously revealed that he was working on two new watches that were based on the open source pebble operating system, they had to be done under the brand of the main devices. Now, all that has changed.
Writing in his blog, Migicovsky explained that he had been able to react the registered brand of Pebble, which will now be incorporated into the next products. And it seems that the company is not wasting time, since its core 2 and Core Time 2 smartwatches have been renamed for Pebble 2 Duo and Pebble Time 2, respectively.
However, neither is ready for launch, however, with the first shipment to beta users and the second subject to engineering verification tests (EVT). But for anyone who is excited about the Pebble brand, the name change will only be enough for the heart to accelerate.
Shipping in August
Do you want to have one of these renowned watches in your hands? It can pre-order so much from the repetition website of the Core devices. The devices are still using the old names of “nucleus”, and presumably this will be updated shortly. Pebble 2 duo is available for $ 149, while time 2 Core 2 can be requested for $ 225.
In its blog post, Migicovsky wrote that his company hopes to start sending the Pebble 2 duo at the end of August (a delay of his original July estimate). The setback is due to the proof of an improved waterproofing rating, while a speaker has also been added that must also be waterproofed.
There is an additional hitch with orders: rates. Migicovsky says that around $ 10 will be charged per duo Pebble 2 if he is ordering the United States. Non -American orders will not be affected by tariffs, since the devices are sent from Hong Kong.
Migicovsky has also been testing the Pebble 2 Duo Bluetooth range (in a “non -scientific” super way, he acknowledges), and says he hits approximately 140 meters in an outdoor environment. In a street with buildings, the range is a little longer.
The blog publication also mentioned a handful of Pebble Time 2. Among them among them, Migicovsky said the design had “a little more elegant,” although he did not share any detail. Since the clock is at the EVT stage of manufacturing, it is a bit early to start thinking about shipping dates.
Even so, with the name of Pebble returning almost a decade after he stopped being sold, the smart watch fans will undoubtedly be excited about new news. Meanwhile, we will be attentive to more.
