- Today a new PS portal update will be launched with new features aimed at improving user experience.
- Players can capture the game during cloud transmission and order their games
- A new tail function has been added when a transmission server is full, among other features
Today comes a new Portal PlayStation update, which brings a ton of new features aimed at improving user experience while using cloud games transmission beta.
As detailed in a new PlayStation blog post, the first new feature that players can expect is a classification function on the catalog screen, allowing users to order recently added games to PS Plus (the default value), the name and launch date.
Probably the new most exciting feature of update is the ability to capture the game during cloud transmission.
By pressing the create button once, the creation menu will be displayed; Pressing and retaining will take a screenshot, and press twice will start or finish recording a video clip.
Like the PlayStation 5, the images and the captured videos will be automatically charged on the cloud server and then can be accessed through the PlayStation application. It is observed that “the catches will be stored for 14 days after they were created.”
Another improvement allows players to queue when a transmission server is full. An estimated waiting time will be shown on the screen, and when a place is opened, the game session will start automatically.
The game will also stop depending on the situation, even when the player opens the fast menu of the PS portal, when pressing the ignition button once to enter the Rest mode, or if a system error message is shown.
Finally, users will receive a system notification when their transmission session is about to finish due to the inactivity of more than 10 minutes, and a user comment screen has been added at the end of the sessions to qualify the quality of the experience.
The new PS portal update should be implemented today, but Techradar Gaming discovered that a 92.26 MB download is currently available to download from 12 PM BST today.
Sony added that, since cloud transmission (beta) remains an experimental offer, “the characteristics available during the beta period can change over time and may not reflect the final experience.”
